The new open access journal Molecular Biology & Nanomedicine (MBN) is published by Techland Publishing Group. Techland Publishing, founded in Hongkong in December 2019, is an international publishing company focusing on open access academic publishing.
MBN is an interdisciplinary journal involving biology, materials, chemistry and medicine. Molecular biology is a discipline which is to study nucleic acids, proteins and other biological macromolecules. Molecular biology technology is a type of research method based on the biochemistry of nucleic acids. Great progress in the development of molecular biology techniques has been made since the discovery of the structure of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and the implementation of a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. A new era of research on the structure of nucleic acids molecules, the development of new analytical tools, and DNA-based analyses has been started after that. The research content extends from DNA identification to analysis of nucleic acids and expression products. The continuous advancement of technology provides important evidence and innovative ideas for protozoan detection, cancer diagnosis and evaluation, genetic disease diagnosis, and immune system disease diagnosis.
Nanomedicine is defined by National Institute of Health as the application of nanotechnology, which refers to the treatment, diagnosis, monitoring and control of biological systems. Nanomedicine can be divided into two categories. One is medical research at the molecular level, that is, an extension of traditional molecular medicine. Gene medicine and gene therapy are typical examples. The other is to introduce the results of nanoscale research in chemistry and material fields into the medical field, such as the disease diagnosis and medical treatment applications of nano-devices.
The interactions of nanotechnology and molecular biology are very broad in nature, which provides the necessary tools for diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases. The size of nanomaterials is similar to that of most biological molecules and structures; therefore, nanomaterials are able to be useful for both in vivo and in vitro biomedical research and applications. Thus far, the integration of nanomaterials with biology has led to the development of diagnostic devices, contrast agents, analytical tools, physical therapy applications, and drug delivery vehicles. The development of nanotechnology and molecular technology has the potential to change medical science.
MBN will publish all areas of molecular biology and nanomedicine, including basic research in nanobiology, technology transformation, industrialization demonstration, etc. This journal is aimed to provide a platform for communication, sharing, and discussion in the fields of biology and nanoscience for scientists, scholars, and researchers.
Anyway, publishing high quality and solid papers is always our aim and pursue. The editorial team greatly appreciates contributions, recommendations and suggestions and hope that this journal will provide you a way to the important research in this field.
